We are an independent Further Education organisation providing learning opportunities
for adults to acquire new skills, knowledge and qualifications
Welcome to our Learning Club

We are an independent training provider based in Havant. We offer informal learning opportunities and work-based learning through nationally accredited qualifications to meet the needs of individuals and businesses. We work closely with funding agencies to make training affordable and accessible for both learners and employers.

Our mission is to:

Support the quest for abandoning the age-old dichotomy of academic vs. non-academic by creating a new system of learning which values the talents and skills of every young and adult person.

We have four departments:

1)Apprenticeships

Whether you are an individual looking for an apprenticeship or an employer looking for an apprentice you’ve come to the right place. Apprenticeships combine real jobs with hands-on training and qualifications that are nationally recognised by employers. We offer a complete service, from the point of enquiry to completion and beyond.

We provide training in the work-place, rather than at a college where Apprentices spend one day per week working in pseudo-commercial conditions along with 14 - 20 others. The Apprentices we see are visited at work. This means that they do all their vocational training and assessments in a REAL restaurant, shop, call centre or customer service environment all working with REAL customers under REAL commercial pressures. Our employers work in partnership with our trainers/assessors to make the Apprentice's journey to becoming fully qualified an enjoyable and seamless experience. We provide training and assessment for employers who wish to qualify as work based assessors or trainers themselves. More information: http://www.apprenticeships.org.uk

2) Adult Learning

Hampshire Learning provides a wide range of learning opportunities for the people of Hampshire, working in partnership with schools, children's centres, community and voluntary organisations. Much of the provision is funded by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) and delivered through a network of providers. Hampshire Learning has agreed to fund five of our courses during 2010-11:

We are seeking to attract adults who do not hold a full level 2 qualification who may be disadvantaged or disengaged from learning and also adults from targeted groups within deprived communities. (click on the course titles above for more information on each course).

3)Foundation Learning

Foundation Learning is the name given to education provision at Entry Level and Level 1, and includes the qualifications at these levels within the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF).  Learners are offered personalised learning opportunities that help them gain credit at Entry Level and Level 1, on a learning journey leading to a range of appropriate destinations such as Level 2 qualifications, supported employment or independent living.

  The aims of Foundation Learning are to:

  1. increase learner engagement, participation, achievement and progression through Entry Level and Level 1 towards Level 2;
  2. bring greater coherence to programmes of study at Entry Level and Level 1, supporting progression to clearly defined destinations; and
  3. support the delivery of high quality learning programmes, which are personalised and appropriate to the learner’s needs and intended destination.

Foundation Learning applies to both 14-19 learners and to adults aged 19 and above. The Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and the Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) have provided curriculum design guidance for Entry Level and Level 1 learning programmes.  They must include:

  1. subject or vocational knowledge, skills and understanding;
  2. functional skills; and
  3. personal and social development learning.

Each learning programme includes a wrap-around service of:

  1. support
  2. information, advice and guidance
  3. initial assessment and ongoing review.

Our curriculum offer includes a wide range of City&Guilds Qualifications.
